Police services in Prescott are contracted by the Town Council but are overseen by an independent Prescott Police Services Board. This is a five member board consisting of the mayor, one other councillor and one more representative appointed by the Council plus representatives appointed by the provincial government.
The board is governed by the Police Services Act and their own procedural by-law

The Board meets monthly at the Town Hall in the second floor board room.
