Code of Conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards

The Corporation of the Town of Prescott will promote a respectful, tolerant, harassment-free relationship and workplace between members of Council and the officers and employees of the Corporation. 

Council-Staff Relations Policy

The purpose is to guide staff to identify situations that meet the criteria of unreasonable customer behviour or vexatious, frivolous and/or persistent requests and the associated to contribute to the overall internet of dealing with all customers in ways which are consistent, fair and reasonable while acknowledging that there may be a need to shield staff from unreasonable behaviour. 

Handling Unreasonable Customer Behaviour Policy 

The purpose of the policy is to enable the municipality to promptly and effectively address service and service delivery complaints raised by members of the public in an approach where all complaints are dealt with in a fair, respectful, transparent manner, and as quickly as possible. 

Municipal Complaint Policy 

The purpose of this policy is to clarify how the Town of Prescott's Code of Conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards ("Code of Conduct") guides a member's use of social media.

Failure to follow the guidance set out in this policy could lead to a finding that a member has contravened the Code of Conduct. Members can seek advice from the Integrity Commissioner with respect to specific situations that may arise. 

Social Media Policy for Members of Council 

The purpose of this policy is to ensure the security and safety of the Town of Prescott facilities, the individuals who use them, and the assets housed within them. This policy establishes guidelines for the use of video surveillance systems within and around Town-owned and leased buildings and properties including the collection, use, disclosure, and disposal of recorded information.
